Dubai luxury hotels shine in world’s top 50 ranking

Dubai has strengthened its reputation as a luxury travel capital after three of its hotels earned places on The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2025 list, unveiled in London on October 30. The annual awards highlight standout hospitality from around the globe.

Atlantis The Royal led the UAE’s showing, taking sixth place worldwide. The Palm Jumeirah landmark, praised for its dramatic design and elevated beachfront experience, also won the Lost Explorer Best Beach Hotel Award 2025. Its dual recognition further underscores its role in pushing the boundaries of ultra-luxury travel.

Two other new Dubai hotels joined the global elite: Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab at No.20 and The Lana, part of the Dorchester Collection, at No.35. Both properties have been noted for their striking architecture, refined interiors and highly curated guest service, reinforcing Dubai’s status as a destination where style and innovation meet.

Across the broader ranking, Rosewood Hong Kong claimed the No.1 position for 2025. The waterfront property also retained its title as Best Hotel in Asia. “Rosewood Hong Kong’s No.1 position reflects Asia’s growing prominence as a global travel powerhouse,” said Emma Sleight, Head of Content for The World’s 50 Best Hotels. “This list celebrates the creativity and commitment of the hospitality sector in delivering unforgettable guest experiences.”

Asia dominated the top 50 with 20 entries, followed by Europe with 17 and North America with six. New additions from 16 destinations, including Brazil, India and Australia, pointed to an increasingly diverse luxury travel landscape.

Special prizes highlighted standout achievements in sustainability, design and hospitality, including Desa Potato Head in Bali for eco-innovation, Passalacqua in Lake Como as Best Boutique Hotel and Southern Ocean Lodge in Australia as the One To Watch.

The rankings are determined by more than 800 industry experts, each required to have stayed at their chosen hotels within the past two years. Votes are anonymous and independent, ensuring the list reflects genuine guest experiences rather than marketing influence.
