Dubai’s General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) has introduced Salama, an artificial intelligence-powered platform designed to enhance the efficiency of residency services, Gulf News reported.
Unveiled during the Fourth Annual Media Council under the theme “Media Vision Shaping the Future,” the launch was led by Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA Dubai, alongside senior officials and media figures.
The Salama platform simplifies residency-related transactions by allowing users to renew or cancel permits, make payments, and access services instantly—eliminating the need for traditional paperwork. The AI-driven system retrieves user data automatically, streamlining the process into just a few steps.
Lieutenant General Al Marri emphasized the platform’s role in advancing Dubai’s digital transformation. “This initiative redefines customer experiences and improves government efficiency,” he said in a Gulf News report.
Currently available to individuals, Salama will soon be expanded to include services for companies. It supports over 40 languages and enables users to complete visa renewals in as little as 10 to 20 seconds through smart channels and UAE Pass.
During the forum, a live demonstration showcased the system’s efficiency, with an applicant successfully renewing a family member’s residency in seconds.
Colonel Khalid bin Madia Al Falasi, Assistant Director General of Digital Services Affairs at GDRFA, highlighted that Salama represents a major leap in digital governance, aligning with the UAE’s Vision 2071 and Dubai’s smart city goals.
