The 1 Billion Followers Summit has announced the opening of applications for the prestigious One Billion Award, a $1 million prize aimed at recognizing top content creators who champion positive change. Applications, which began on Sunday, will remain open until November 30, with the winner set to be revealed during the summit’s closing ceremony in Dubai from January 11 to 13, 2025. The event, organized by Dubai’s New Media Academy, will run under the theme “Content for Good.”
According to a Khaleej Times report, interested creators can submit their entries via the summit’s official website: www.1billionsummit.com. The award invites participation from individuals who demonstrate significant contributions to society through engaging and impactful content. Nominations from third parties for creators promoting informative and socially beneficial content are also welcomed.
Highlighting the award’s mission, Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, stated, “It serves as an inspiring platform for a generation of new voices and reinforces the potential for positive and meaningful change those voices embody, promoting a culture of giving, compassion, and communication without borders or boundaries.”
The eligibility criteria for the One Billion Award emphasize content that embodies scientific, cultural, humanitarian, and social values. Content should inspire and unify communities, support sustainability, and reflect compassion. Projects should also demonstrate innovation, originality, and adherence to social media standards while fostering engagement with a wide audience.
A judging panel will assess submissions from December 1 to December 15, selecting ten finalists. Public voting will be held online from December 16 to 31, and the judges will tally these votes from January 11 to 12.
The 2025 Summit will also introduce three focused tracks on technology, economy, and content, aiming to enrich experiences for both new and established creators.
