Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the launch of a new weekend bus route, W20, set to commence operations on Friday, February 9.
According to Khaleej Times report, the route aims to enhance convenience for bus riders, particularly those heading to Al Mamzar beach.
Operating from Friday to Sunday between 5 pm and 11 pm, with departures every half-hour, Route W20 will connect Stadium Metro Station with Al Mamzar Beach, offering a direct link for beachgoers.
In addition to the introduction of Route W20, the RTA has unveiled a series of enhancements to several public bus routes across the emirate. These improvements are designed to elevate the daily transportation experience for passengers, ensuring smoother and more comfortable journeys.
Among the modifications, Route 11B will be renamed as Route 11 to improve the bus user experience. Routes 16A and 16B will be rerouted and renamed as Routes 16 and 25, respectively, with Route 16 starting from Al Rashdiya Bus Station.
Further enhancements include the extension of Route F62 to include Dubai Festival City and the Al Garhoud neighborhood, while Route C04 will extend to the Mohammed bin Rashid Library. Routes 103 and 106 will offer direct, non-stop services from main stations to the Global Village.
Route E303 will be rerouted via Al Ittihad Street to Sharjah, and routes 16A, 16B, and 64A will be discontinued. Additionally, the RTA’s Public Transport Agency will introduce journey time improvements for 13 bus routes to ensure faster travel times for passengers.
