Dubai grants Golden Visas to more than 200 outstanding teachers and educators

Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has ordered the granting of Golden Visas to over 200 exceptional teachers and educators across early childhood centers, schools, and international universities in the emirate.

The initiative honors their dedication, impact, and commitment to shaping Dubai’s education system. “Teachers and educators are the ones who light the way forward. They inspire, guide, and give our children the skills and confidence to succeed,” Sheikh Hamdan said.

He emphasized that awarding the Golden Visa reflects how Dubai values “knowledge, integrity, and service,” adding that schools will always remain “places where the future is nurtured and where the next generation can thrive.”

In line with World Teachers’ Day, Sheikh Hamdan—who also serves as UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence—praised the teaching community for their role in building character and strengthening Dubai’s global standing. “Supporting them is the best investment we can make in the future of Dubai,” he said.

Out of 435 applicants in the first phase, 223 educators were granted the 10-year residency—157 from schools, 60 from universities, and six from early childhood centers. The recipients include teachers, social workers, librarians, and senior education leaders who met criteria based on qualifications, community impact, and professional achievements.

Special consideration was given to educators who earned national or international recognition, published academic research, or made a significant difference in their institutions.

Applications for the second phase of the initiative will open on October 15 and will run until December 15, allowing more teachers from private education institutions to apply for the Golden Visa.

The program supports the Dubai Education Strategy for the next decade, which aims to attract world-class educators and foster lifelong learning across the emirate.
