Dubai is gearing up for the seventh edition of the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) set to commence on October 28. The month-long event will transform the city into a fitness hub, promoting a healthier lifestyle.
DFC encourages participants to dedicate 30 minutes a day for 30 consecutive days to physical activity, aiming to turn fitness into a regular habit. This year, the event promises a diverse range of free sports events and activities suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
Organized under the guidance of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, DFC is a reflection of the city’s commitment to promoting health and fitness. The overarching goal of DFC is to encourage a vast majority of people to engage in fitness activities. This aligns with Dubai’s aspiration to be known as the world’s most active city.
Fitness activities for everyone
Residents and visitors can look forward to 30-day Fitness Villages, Community Fitness Hubs, and numerous events across the city. Among the highlights are the Dubai Ride by DP World and Dubai Run by Mai Dubai. The array of fitness activities on offer ranges from traditional sports like football to emerging trends such as aerial yoga. DFC strives to provide an option for everyone, promoting sustainable and enjoyable fitness habits.
Working in partnership with gyms and fitness studios across the city, DFC will offer hundreds of free exercise classes. Exclusive offers on fitness apps and wellness services will also be available, providing motivation throughout the challenge. The aim is not just for a month of fitness, but to instill lasting habits for lifelong well-being.
A legacy of fitness
Since its debut in 2017, DFC has seen immense success. Millions have benefited from the challenge, and the city’s sports and fitness infrastructure has grown exponentially. Dubai now boasts free outdoor workout zones, running trails, cycling paths, and a myriad of fitness options, making it a haven for fitness enthusiasts.
The DFC is organized by Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism and Dubai Sports Council. It is supported by a plethora of partners including DP World, Mai Dubai, Sun and Sand Sports, Emirates Airline, and many others.
