Several parks across Dubai have discontinued accepting Nol cards for entry, as confirmed by Khaleej Times.
Reports from residents indicate that this change has been implemented in various localities across Dubai. A Dubai Municipality customer service agent informed Khaleej Times, “Most Dubai parks have removed the Nol card payment system following a partnership between Du and Dubai Municipality signed in October last year.”
This partnership aims to introduce innovative ticketless entry and seamless identity management systems, enhancing worker satisfaction, tech skills, and sustainability in public parks. Du CEO Fahad Al Hassawi commented, “Our partnership is focused on eliminating physical tickets and creating an advanced identity management system to redefine access to public parks.”
An exception remains for Dubai’s Quranic Park, where the Nol card system is still operational. Residents like Tasmiyah A. from Deira and Premalatha Shriram from Karama were surprised to find the Nol card system replaced with barcode tickets during their recent park visits.
Ticketing is now handled through cash or credit card payments, with tickets being scanned at entry points. Some parks, like Safa Park, are introducing smart payment options like Samsung Pay, Google Pay, or Apple Pay for a ticketless entry. This system is gradually being rolled out across various parks.
The price of park entry remains unchanged, although the mode of transaction has been updated. In 2017, Dubai Municipality mandated Nol cards for park entry, with special gates installed for scanning the cards.
