Diners at the upscale Nusr-Et Dubai steakhouse, part of a chain owned by the celebrity chef Nusret Gökçe, popularly known as Salt Bae, racked up a bill nearing AED 400,000, equivalent to approximately P6.1 million.
The hefty receipt, which was shared on Instagram by Gökçe himself, details an extravagant selection of dishes and drinks. Highlights from the bill include the opulent Golden Tomahawk steak, priced at AED 1,000 per piece, and the legendary Petrus wines from the years 2009 and 2011.
Nusr-Et Dubai is known for its extravagant dining experience, where meat is treated with the utmost reverence. Patrons come for the food and the flamboyant presentation style of Salt Bae, whose theatrical flair in preparing and seasoning meats has made him an internet phenomenon.
The bill also included other high-ticket items such as 1 kg of Golden Baklava, priced at AED 4,620, and a single portion of Nusr-Et’s special steak costing AED 5,100. The final bill, inclusive of a 5% VAT and municipality tax, reached a total of AED 398,630.00, with the diners leaving a generous tip of AED 90,000.
