The young eco-warriors, identified as Mohammed Thani Al Shafar, Ghobash Marwan Bin Ghobash, Rashid Saeed Al Marri, and Khalifa Saeed Al Marri, caught the attention of Sheikh Hamdan through a video on Instagram. This video showcased the boys diligently picking up trash along the marathon route, demonstrating their commitment to the environment.
Expressing his appreciation, Sheikh Hamdan extended his thanks to the children on Instagram, highlighting their names and applauding their actions. This gesture of recognition underscores the importance the Dubai leadership places on environmental stewardship and community involvement.
The Dubai Marathon, which made its return on Sunday, January 7, after a four-year hiatus due to the 2020 pandemic, saw participants covering a distance of 42.19km, starting from Umm Suqeim Road. The involvement of these young individuals in keeping the marathon route clean has been an inspiration to many.
