Dubai crown prince surprises diners by paying for everyone’s meal

Diners at La Maison Ani in Dubai were left stunned on Wednesday after Crown Prince of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan unexpectedly paid for their meals.

The royal duo, accompanied by close aides and friends, made a casual lunchtime visit to the restaurant, which is helmed by renowned chef Izu Ani. Videos circulating online show the crown princes walking in and warmly greeting other diners with traditional Islamic salutations, adding a personal and heartfelt touch to their visit.

Among those surprised was Emirati Noura Mohammed AlMarzooqi, who had no idea her lunch would be covered by royalty. “They were super friendly and said hello to everyone and made the experience really great for us,” she shared in a Khaleej Times report. “When I asked for the cheque after my meal, the restaurant informed me that Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed had paid everyone’s bill. Only in UAE will you see the royal families spending lovely time with their people and spreading kindness and making the experience priceless.”

The heartwarming gesture drew admiration online, with many praising the leaders for their humility and generosity. Chef Izu Ani, known for other acclaimed restaurants like Alaya, Gaia, and Kai Enzo, hosted the memorable moment at one of Dubai’s favorite upscale spots.
