Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has extended its Bus-On-Demand service to two new locations—Oud Metha and Barsha Heights—as part of its efforts to offer more flexible and efficient transportation options across the city.
According to Adel Shakri, Director of Planning and Business Development at RTA’s Public Transport Agency, the service plays a key role in easing traffic congestion and enhancing connectivity. Each trip costs just AED 5 per person.
Previously available in areas such as Al Barsha, Al Nahda, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Business Bay, and Downtown Dubai, the Bus-On-Demand service now covers 10 major zones in the emirate.
The service, available through a smart app, allows passengers to book rides on 13-seater buses that operate within specific zones. Designed to improve first- and last-mile connectivity, the system helps link residential communities with the nearest public transport stations.
Shakri emphasized that the expansion responds to growing demand and offers a smart, convenient, and cost-effective solution for daily commuters.
