The Filipino community is set to commemorate Philippine Independence Day with the powerful anthem “Mabuhay Ka Kababayan” on June 8, 2024, at the Dubai World Trade Center. Composed by Elipas Sibua, WCOPA National Director and Music Teacher at Sunmarke School, the song will be performed by Peter Rosalita, America’s Got Talent All-Star Season 16 Semi-Finalist, alongside Marc Antillion, Semi-finalist from The Voice Kids Philippines, and Fin Remirez, a WCOPA Multi-Medalist.
According to Sibua, “Mabuhay Ka Kababayan” is a stirring anthem that embodies empowerment, resilience, and national pride. Celebrating the courage and strength of the Filipino people, the song highlights their quest to overcome challenges and achieve freedom. It emphasizes unity and bravery, encouraging Filipinos to rise from failures and not back down in life’s battles.
“The song’s lyrics are designed to inspire and uplift, calling for Filipinos to come together, shed their fears, and fight for love and peace. The powerful message underscores the importance of solidarity and collective action in the face of adversity. The anthem serves as a reminder that Filipinos possess the courage to confront problems head-on, standing firm and fighting for freedom despite any hardship,” Sibua said.
He added that “Mabuhay Ka Kababayan” song is more than just a song; it is a tribute to the indomitable spirit of the Filipino people. It acknowledges the numerous struggles Filipinos have faced and conquered throughout history, encouraging the nation to continue standing tall and proud on the global stage.
