A Dubai-bound flight from Delhi was delayed on Monday morning after receiving a bomb threat via email, escalating concerns over a recent spate of hoax threats in the national capital. According to Delhi Police, the threatening email was sent to the Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) office at Indira Gandhi International Airport at 9:35 AM on June 17.
“Upon receipt of the email, immediate legal actions were taken, and a thorough search was conducted. Fortunately, nothing suspicious was found,” a police spokesperson said in an ANI report. This incident follows closely on the heels of similar hoax threats targeting various Delhi museums last week, including the Railway Museum, which also proved to be unfounded.
Recent weeks have seen a troubling increase in such hoax threats across various institutions in Delhi, affecting schools, colleges, hospitals, and transport hubs.
