Dubai has taken another bold step on the global stage with the launch of the world’s largest Visa Application Centre, located in Wafi City. Developed by VFS Global, this state-of-the-art facility sets a new standard in international visa processing, offering unmatched convenience, security, and capacity.
Spanning nearly 150,000 square feet, the flagship centre can accommodate up to 10,000 applications per day. It’s designed to serve over 200 nationalities and is staffed by a multicultural team of more than 400 professionals from 25+ countries.
The opening ceremony was attended by top UAE officials, including His Excellency Helal Saeed Almarri, Director General of Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism; His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai; and Zubin Karkaria, Founder and CEO of VFS Global Group.
HE Almarri emphasized the strategic importance of the centre, noting, “This milestone is more than an infrastructure achievement — it reflects the strategic direction Dubai is taking to enhance global mobility, unlock access to opportunity, and accelerate growth across our visitor and business economy.”
Echoing the sentiment, HE Al Marri said the launch marks “a new milestone in the journey of excellence pursued by the UAE,” and reflects the country’s commitment to delivering top-tier smart services and government efficiency.
The facility is built with user-centric features, including AI-powered document validation, biometric stations, self-service kiosks, QR code-based check-ins, and dedicated zones for children, families, and persons with disabilities. It also houses one of only two Platinum Lounge services in the UAE, offering premium amenities such as chauffeur pick-ups and full-service assistance.
Zubin Karkaria described the launch as a tribute to the UAE’s progress and VFS Global’s two-decade journey in the country. “In line with the rapid development of Dubai, today we are pleased to launch the world’s largest Visa Application Centre, serving over 200 nationalities in this Year of Community,” he said.
This centre supports the UAE’s ‘We the UAE 2031’ vision and Dubai’s D33 economic agenda by positioning the city as a global gateway — future-ready, digitally driven, and rooted in community values.
