Dubai-based Filipino, Angel Gwyneth Gutierrez, was crowned Mutya ng Pilipinas – Charity at the Mutya ng Pilipinas Dubai pageant, announced on March 5. The event saw Gutierrez winning over the hearts of the judges and the audience, leading to her selection by an overwhelming majority for this prestigious new title. The coronation was attended by Mutya ng Pilipinas National Director Cory Quirino, who praised Gutierrez’s exceptional performance throughout the competition.
As the new Mutya ng Pilipinas – Charity, Gutierrez will serve as the ambassador for the pageant’s charity programs in the Philippines, with her first project scheduled for May. The 19-year-old represented her home city of Batangas and captivated everyone with her performances, especially in the National Costume and Evening Gown segments, where she showcased her elegance and poise.
Following her victory, Gutierrez expressed her commitment to using her title to make a positive impact in the community, particularly focusing on supporting Filipino household workers in Dubai through educational initiatives in computer technology.
Gutierrez, who currently works as a receptionist intern at Angelwings International Tourism in Dubai and holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance from Curtin University Dubai, shared her journey to the pageant stage. Despite her initial shyness and lack of experience, she embraced the challenge, finding her voice and purpose through the competition. She extends her gratitude to her mentors and dedicates her title to her family, God, and the less fortunate, promising to leverage her new platform for meaningful charity work and community service.
