Escalating conflicts between Israel and Palestine have prompted Dubai-based airlines to cut back their daily operations to and from Tel Aviv.
The reduction was confirmed by airline representatives in a Khaleej Times report this Wednesday.
Emirates, the flagship carrier from Dubai, is scaling down its flights to Ben Gurion International Airport (TLV). Starting this Friday, the airline will reduce its three daily return flights to just one. “From October 13 to October 31, 2023, we will operate only the EK933/934 daily flight to and from Tel Aviv due to operational reasons,” the airline declared.
In their statement, Emirates shared, “We have been closely watching the situation in Israel and maintaining regular communication with the pertinent authorities. Given the fluid nature of the situation, we are continually assessing all influencing factors.”
Customers impacted by this change are urged to reach out to their booking agents for alternate flight schedules or to process refunds. Charges for changes or cancellations will not apply for tickets purchased on or before October 11, 2023, intended for travel up to November 30, 2023.
Similarly, Flydubai is reducing its flight services to and from Israel for over a fortnight. Previously offering four return flights daily, they will now provide only two. “From October 13 to October 31, Flydubai will consolidate its flights to Ben Gurion Airport, operating the FZ 1549/1550 and FZ 1209/1210 flights,” a spokesperson for the airline detailed.
Passengers affected by Flydubai’s rescheduling should contact their contact centre at (+971) 600 54 44 45, the flydubai travel shop, or their respective travel agents to explore rebooking or refund options.
