Drone ban in UAE to be partially lifted in phased approach starting November 25

The UAE’s Ministry of Interior has announced that the country will begin partially lifting its ban on drone operations in a phased rollout starting November 25, Khaleej Times reported. The initiative aims to enhance airspace safety while gradually allowing drone activities under specific conditions.

The announcement was made during a press conference at the Abu Dhabi Police College, held in collaboration with the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority and the General Civil Aviation Authority.

As part of the plan, a unified platform for drone registration and operations will be introduced, initially catering to companies and government entities. The platform is designed to streamline procedures, support the nation’s growing drone sector, and align with strategic goals.

Future phases will expand services to include flying operations for amateur enthusiasts, with details to be announced at a later stage.
