Content creator Donnalyn Bartolome has officially announced that actor JM de Guzman is now her boyfriend, following a lengthy period of courtship. In an emotional social media post on Saturday, Bartolome shared how De Guzman rekindled a love she believed was long lost.
“I thought we were only going to be friends,” Bartolome began. “I was almost certain… If everyone knew in detail how I felt, and everything that transpired, you’d feel the same, but the stars had something else written in them and during our exclusively dating phase, we assured each other promise rings, linked to the first promise we’d made to each other—a pinky kind for when we’re finally ready to be officially in a relationship.”
Bartolome highlighted De Guzman’s unwavering dedication over the past year and a half, crediting him for showing her the true essence of love. “His determination caused him to persist… until one day I just could no longer resist,” she revealed. “He awakened the love I didn’t know I still had to give to someone again ever, and even though I no longer believe in forever…I believe in Now.”
Reflecting on her past doubts about love, Bartolome added, “Spell it backwards and that’s what he has done, the match to capture my heart, I declare out loud: Juan Miguel won.”
Their relationship drew public attention in October 2022 when Bartolome organized a surprise birthday party for De Guzman. At the event, De Guzman remarked that whoever would become her boyfriend would be very fortunate.
