Doctors in Fujairah revive patient after 40 minutes without a heartbeat

A woman who suffered a massive heart attack and went into cardiac arrest for nearly 40 minutes was brought back to life by doctors at Fujairah Hospital, in what health officials hailed as a remarkable medical success.

According to Emirates Health Services, which oversees the hospital, the patient was rushed to the emergency department where a specialized medical team worked relentlessly to restore her heartbeat. Through advanced resuscitation procedures and seamless teamwork, the doctors were able to revive her without any lasting complications.

Dr. Ahmed Obaid Al Khadim, Director of Fujairah Hospital, said the case reflects both the hospital’s preparedness and the dedication of its staff. “This success reflects the spirit of teamwork and rapid response in handling critical cases, reaffirming our commitment to providing advanced and safe healthcare,” he said.

Dr. Thaer Khazim, head of the cardiology department, emphasized that coordination between the emergency and cardiology teams was vital to saving the patient. “Despite the prolonged cardiac arrest, the integrated response allowed us to save the patient and achieve full recovery without complications,” he explained.
