The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) National Capital Region (NCR) conducted a two-day seminar on forgery detection to strengthen the frontline defense against fraudulent documents in migrant worker applications. The training was held on September 27–28, 2025, at The Linden Suites in Ortigas Center, Pasig City.
NCR Regional Director Atty. Falconi Millar and Assistant Regional Director Ma. Theresa Sanz led the initiative, which brought together experts from multiple agencies. Among the speakers were NUP Lynet V. Aguila, Chief of the Questioned Document Examination Division at the PNP Forensic Group; Regine May L. Abarquez and Kharmee A. Tabanda, both immigration officers in the Bureau of Immigration’s Anti-Fraud Section; and Atty. Joseph Ador A. Ramos, Overseas Employment Adjudicator at DMW–NCR.
The opening session was attended by key officials, including Assistant Secretary Jerome A. Alcantara, who oversees Licensing, Adjudication, and Regional Operations; Atty. April R. Casabuena, Regional Director of DMW IV-A; and Assistant Regional Director Karen M. Quilao.
Frontliners from DMW–NCR, the Migrant Workers Processing Division, the Welfare Reintegration Services Division, and the Migrant Workers Airport Assistance Center (MWAAC), along with representatives from DMW Regional Offices III and IV-A, participated in the training.
According to the DMW, the seminar is part of its ongoing campaign to prevent fraud, reinforce public trust, and uphold integrity in public service—aligned with the President’s directive to protect the rights and welfare of overseas Filipino workers.
