DMW hands out P3 million in financial aid to 60 distressed OFWs

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) distributed approximately ₱3 million in financial assistance to 60 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) on Wednesday, June 5, as part of its continued effort to support Filipinos facing hardships abroad.

The aid was released under the Agarang Kalinga at Saklolo para sa mga OFWs na Nangangailangan (AKSYON) Fund during the “Kasayahan Sa Tahanan Ng OFW 2025” event held at the DMW Central Office in Mandaluyong City.

Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac personally led the awarding of assistance and underscored the commitment of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to protect and uplift OFWs and their families. According to Cacdac, the President remains fully supportive of the department’s programs that focus on emergency assistance, welfare, and empowerment of migrant workers.

The AKSYON Fund is specifically designed to respond swiftly to critical situations affecting OFWs, providing relief for those who encounter serious problems while working overseas, as well as support for their families in the Philippines.
