The Philippine National Police (PNP) announced on Friday that former Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo will be detained in the same room previously occupied by former Senator Leila de Lima during her nearly seven-year detention.
PNP spokesperson Jean Fajardo revealed that Guo will be held in a “simple” room, which includes basic amenities such as a small bed, a table, a bathroom, and a ceiling fan, but without air conditioning.
“This is the same room used by Sen. De Lima when she was detained at the custodial facility,” Fajardo said.
Guo faces charges related to her alleged involvement in the operation of an illegal POGO hub in her municipality. Her camp chose not to post bail, resulting in her detention. The PNP assured that Guo will not receive any special treatment while in custody.
