Did you know that earning AED 15,000 in the UAE makes you eligible for a Green Visa?

If you’re working in the UAE and taking home at least AED 15,000 a month, you may already qualify for the UAE Green Visa—a five-year residency that doesn’t tie you to a single employer.

Introduced as part of the country’s revamped visa system, the Green Visa (or Green Residency) was designed to give professionals, freelancers, and investors more flexibility and long-term stability. Unlike the traditional work visa, you don’t need an employer or family sponsor to stay in the UAE.

Who can apply?

The Green Visa has three main categories:

Skilled workers – with a valid employment contract under MOHRE, classified in occupational levels 1–3, a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent), and a minimum salary of AED 15,000.

Freelancers and self-employed individuals – with a permit from MOHRE, a degree or specialized diploma, and proof of at least AED 360,000 in income over the past two years (or financial solvency).

Investors or partners – who can provide a trade license and proof of capital investment in a UAE-based business.
