Did you know that Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) has a program that can cover the cost of your training—up to ₱14,500 per course?
This is the Skills-for-Employment Scholarship Program (SESP), a scholarship that opens doors for OFWs and their dependents to enroll in short-term technical and vocational courses at any TESDA-accredited training center. The goal: to boost employability, give you industry-recognized credentials, and help you or your family prepare for better opportunities, whether here or abroad.
Who can apply?
Active OWWA members at the time of application (even those whose membership expired within six months).
Single OFWs may pass the slot to a sibling who is 24 years old or younger.
Married OFWs may endorse either their spouse (no age limit) or a child aged 24 and below.
Why it matters
The scholarship does more than pay tuition. It equips scholars with practical skills and, upon completion, a TESDA National Certificate (NC) — a powerful credential that employers in the Philippines and overseas recognize.
In fact, from January to July this year, the program has already produced 2,453 graduates, proof of how many kababayans have transformed their lives through this opportunity.
How to start
All you need to do is prepare your documents, choose your TESDA course, and apply at the nearest OWWA Regional Welfare Office. You can find the directory here: bit.ly/OWWA-RegionalDirectory.
