Diana Zubiri auctions controversial 2002 FHM issue on Boss Toyo

Actress Diana Zubiri recently appeared on Boss Toyo Productions to discuss the sale of her controversial 2002 FHM issue, which featured her posing in skimpy attire on the EDSA-Mandaluyong flyover.

The provocative cover shoot led then-Mandaluyong Mayor Benhur Abalos to file grave scandal charges against Zubiri and FHM. The issue was resolved when the publication apologized and agreed to edit the final release.

In the episode aired on July 4, Zubiri shared insights about the shoot. “Nag-shoot kami sa EDSA, sa Mandaluyong, ‘yung flyover. Noong nag-shoot kami dito, naka-bikini ako talaga,” she explained, revealing that she wore a two-piece bikini during the shoot, but the final edit made it appear she was wearing shorts.

Now residing in Australia, Zubiri clarified that FHM owned the original files of her October 2002 photo shoot. “Nasa FHM [original photos]. ‘Pag-aari nila ‘yun kaya hindi pwedeng basta-bastang i-release,” she stated.

Reflecting on her career as a sexy star, Zubiri expressed no regrets. “Sandali ko lang siyang ginawa tapos ‘yun ang naging stepping stone para magkaroon ako ng big opportunity sa showbiz,” she said.

During the show, Boss Toyo began the bid for the issue at P5,000. Zubiri, mentioning her return to Australia, raised the price to P20,000. They ultimately agreed on $400.
