Kapuso actor Dennis Trillo has clarified that he holds no ill will towards ABS-CBN after his TikTok account was allegedly hacked earlier this month.
The controversy began when Dennis’ TikTok account responded to a query about his wife Jennylyn Mercado’s rumored transfer to ABS-CBN with the comment, “May ABS pa ba?” This response did not sit well with many users.
Reflecting on his beginnings in the entertainment industry, Dennis started his career with ABS-CBN in 2001 as part of Star Circle Batch 10, which included prominent actress Bea Alonzo.
Dennis’ manager, Becky Aguila, emphasized that he would never make insensitive remarks about ABS-CBN or his colleagues. She reiterated the statement from Aguila Entertainment’s general manager, Jan Enriquez, confirming that Dennis’ TikTok account had been compromised.
Entertainment reporter Nelson Canlas interviewed Dennis on the set of “Pulang Araw,” GMA’s upcoming historical series set during World War II, to discuss the incident’s aftermath. Dennis stated, “Hindi naman totoo ‘yung mga naririnig ko at nababasa kong comments dahil nga na-hack ‘yung account ko. Sa 20 years ko sa industriya, wala ako naging kaaway, walang pinagsalita ng masama.”
Dennis reiterated his respect for ABS-CBN, saying he would never respond disrespectfully to any query about the network. “Ako ay hindi sasagot ng ganong klaseng comment sa isang simpleng tanong, kaya kong sagutin ‘yan with full respect pero hindi sa ganoong manner,” he concluded.
