Dela Rosa says he is ready to join Duterte amid ICC case

Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa broke his silence on Wednesday following the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte, expressing his willingness to stand by the former leader if all legal options fail.

In a Facebook post, Dela Rosa stated, “If all legal remedies are exhausted and still justice is to no avail, then I don’t want my family to suffer from cops looking for a heartbeat. I am ready to join the old man hoping that they would allow me to take care of him.”

His statement comes after the Supreme Court denied the petition of Duterte and Dela Rosa for an immediate temporary restraining order (TRO) against the ICC proceedings, ruling that they failed to establish a clear and unmistakable right to halt the process.

Dela Rosa, who served as Duterte’s police chief during the controversial war on drugs, has been a staunch ally of the former president.
