David Charlton, CEO of David’s Salon, passes away at 69

David Charlton, the esteemed British hairdresser and founder of David’s Salon, has passed away at the age of 69. Charlton, who arrived in the Philippines in 1978, quickly established a reputation as a leader in the salon industry. Beginning as a manager at Rever Salon in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, he later expanded the business, eventually creating David’s Salon Inc. in 1989. His vision was to bring the essence of European hairdressing to the Philippines, making quality services available at accessible prices. Today, David’s Salon operates over 200 branches nationwide, recognized for its high standards and welcoming environment.

Reflecting on his legacy, L’Oréal Professionnel honored Charlton in a Facebook post, describing him as a “visionary founder” whose creativity and commitment to service will continue to inspire. In addition to his impact in hairdressing, Charlton was known for his passion for triathlons and is remembered by his daughter, Laura Charlton, who serves as Creative Director for David’s Salon, carrying forward his dedication to innovation and excellence in beauty services.
