Davao City has been named the eighth-most congested city globally and the most congested in the Philippines, according to the latest TomTom Traffic Index. The index evaluates traffic conditions in 500 cities across 62 countries, analyzing travel times, congestion levels, and the hours commuters lose in traffic.
On average, it takes 33 minutes to cover just 10 kilometers in Davao City, highlighting significant mobility challenges. The city’s traffic performance also ranked the worst among Southeast Asian cities included in the study.
Manila, the Philippines’ capital, placed 14th worldwide, with slightly faster travel times averaging 32 minutes for the same distance.
