Film director Darryl Yap took to social media to express frustration over an incident involving his mother, who he claimed was disrespected by a doctor at a clinic in Olongapo City for wearing casual clothes.
Posting on his Facebook page on July 3, Yap sarcastically asked for recommendations on where his mom could rent an evening gown for her next appointment. “Kasi binastos siya ng Doktor sa Medical City SM Olongapo Central dahil naka-shorts at t-shirt lang siya,” he wrote. He added that she would be returning to the same clinic the next day and hoped the doctor would be “sweet” to her this time.
The director also tagged Olongapo City Mayor Rolen C. Paulino Jr. and Zambales First District Representative Jay Khonghun in the comments section, calling their attention to the issue.
In a follow-up post, Yap shared a conversation with an unnamed source who confirmed that his mother waited for the doctor for around an hour. The same source claimed that other patients had also complained about the doctor’s behavior, but no action had been taken.
Yap said he had already contacted the clinic’s management and was assured that a meeting would be arranged between his mother and the doctor to address the situation.
