Darryl Yap lashes out at Bongbong Marcos, calls him a ‘disease’ in Facebook post

filmmaker and political supporter Darryl Yap expressed deep disappointment and concern over the current administration led by President Bongbong Marcos. Yap, who was a vocal supporter of Marcos during the 2022 elections, revealed his frustration with the treatment of key figures such as Imee Marcos and Sara Duterte, commonly known as Inday, who played pivotal roles in the election campaign.

Yap’s post began with a reflection on his motivations during the campaign: “Aside from not wanting Leni Robredo to win, my love for Imee and Inday drove me to be active during the 2022 elections.” He then shared his disillusionment with the current state of affairs, stating, “I didn’t imagine that after the victory that Imee and Inday helped secure for Bongbong, this is the kind of service he would give to those who trusted and helped him.”

Expressing his surprise and dismay at the treatment of Sara Duterte, Yap wrote, “I just didn’t imagine that Inday and her family will be treated like this, just because she is still the Filipinos’ Number 1.” He admitted his own oversight, noting, “and I guess that’s my fault, LACK OF IMAGINATION.”

Yap, who identifies as being close to both Imee and Inday, defended their integrity and wisdom: “Being one of the privileged few who are close to both Imee and Inday, I find it amusing when people assume that either one is using the other. Remember, these two are among the wisest and most resolute women you’ll ever meet, and neither can be easily influenced or deceived.”

He highlighted the strong bond between Imee and Inday, stating, “They are one because they share the same fight—not because they share the same enemy—they are soul sisters for the motherland. They are united with a common vision and aspirations.” Despite their efforts, Yap lamented that both women have been let down by the promises made during the formation of the “Uniteam.”

Reflecting on the political landscape, Yap noted, “All is revealed. But Imee being an outcast in this Marcos administration is her greatest political blessing—a proof that she has no involvement in whatever sickness we have right now.” He emphasized that Imee still holds a responsibility, saying, “but that doesn’t mean she has no responsibility, she must be part of the SOLUSYON; for the Country and for whatever is left of her Father’s Legacy.”

Concluding his post with a heartfelt confession, Yap declared, “This I say with a broken heart—Our President, Bongbong Marcos is a disease and I hate my role in spreading it. Now I can only pray for a cure from God, or a vaccine from China.”
