Mark Andrew Yulo, the father of two-time Paris Olympics gold medalist Carlos Yulo, has expressed his frustration over his son’s ongoing conflict with his mother, Angelica Yulo.
The tension between Carlos and his mother became public following a Facebook post by ABS-CBN News on September 3, 2024. The post revealed that Carlos, a legendary gymnast, is interested in learning other sports beyond gymnastics. “Legend na siya sa gymnastics at kung bibigyan ng pagkakataon ay gustong matuto ni Carlos Yulo ng ibang sport,” the caption read.
In an interview, Carlos shared his desire to learn kickboxing, specifically highlighting the footwork involved in the sport. “Gustung-gusto ko matuto ng kickboxing. Pero hindi po ano, wala pong sparring,” he said, adding that he also wants to try cross-training in boxing. He clarified that his interest is in the training aspects and not in the combat or sparring.
In response to the news, Mark Andrew Yulo commented on the ABS-CBN post, suggesting that his son needs to apologize to his mother, whom he had allegedly called a thief. “Dapat matuto siyang mag sorry sa kanyang nanay na Mali ang Ang sabihan nya ang kanyang nanay na mag nanakaw para gumanda ang kanyang imahen,” Mark wrote.
