The Pasig City Regional Trial Court Branch 159 has ordered detained Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy and his lawyer, Israelito Torreon, to explain why a pre-recorded video of Quiboloy was aired without court approval.
Acting Presiding Judge Rainelda Estacio-Montesa issued a show cause order on February 12, 2025, after learning that the video was played during a KOJC gathering on February 9, 2025, and later posted on the SMNI News Facebook page on February 10. Another video appearance by Quiboloy was also shown at his senatorial campaign kick-off rally at Ynares Sports Stadium on February 11.
Quiboloy, who is currently detained at the Pasig City Jail on charges of qualified human trafficking and child and sexual abuse, is running for senator in the upcoming elections.
The court gave Quiboloy and Torreon five days to explain why the video was aired and posted online before being reviewed and approved, citing a violation of judicial guidelines.
In his over 20-minute video, Quiboloy claimed his candidacy was part of “God’s mission” and vowed to correct the wrongs of the current administration.
Quiboloy was recently transferred back to Pasig City Jail after undergoing treatment for pneumonia.
