The Muntinlupa City Regional Trial Court Branch 206 has dismissed the motion for reconsideration challenging the acquittal of former senator Leila de Lima in her third and final drug-related case, the Liberal Party announced Thursday evening.
In a decision written by Judge Gener Gito, the court stated that the prosecution did not claim any grave abuse of discretion on the part of the court.
The dismissal comes just days after de Lima celebrated her 65th birthday. Recently, the former senator, now serving as the spokesperson for the Liberal Party, was seen with members of the party’s Mangayon chapter in Iloilo and with the Liberal Youth.
De Lima was previously acquitted of all drug charges against her in June.
