Councilor seeks persona non grata status for vloggers Rendon Labador and Rosmar Tan after office confrontation

A councilor in Coron, Palawan, has proposed that two vloggers be declared persona non grata after a viral video showed them confronting a staff member in the mayor’s office. Councilor Juan Patricia Eyes introduced the proposal in response to the actions of Rendon Labador and Rosmar Tan, who were seen berating Jho Trinidad inside the office of Mayor Marjo Reyes.

The incident stemmed from a social media post by Trinidad, criticizing an event organized by the vloggers. According to Trinidad’s post, Labador and Tan allegedly made the attendees wait for hours without providing food, despite assistance from the mayor’s staff. “They waited for several hours until they starved. The staff even assisted you, but you did not give them a single centavo,” Trinidad wrote on Facebook.

Mayor Reyes, who was on official travel to Puerto Princesa to support local participants in the Batagatan Festival 2024, has ordered a thorough investigation into the incident. Reyes emphasized the need for a fair inquiry and has tasked officers-in-charge from relevant departments to handle the investigation.
