Cop arrested in Pasay with over P200,000 worth of illegal drugs

An active police officer was arrested during a buy-bust operation in Pasay City on Wednesday for allegedly selling illegal drugs.

According to the National Capital Region Police Office, the 37-year-old corporal assigned to the Angeles City Police Station was caught inside a fast food restaurant at Blue Bay Walk, Roxas Boulevard.

Authorities seized approximately 35 grams of suspected shabu valued at around P238,000 from the suspect. His service firearm, ammunition, handcuffs, and police ID were also confiscated.

The police are preparing charges against the suspect, who is now considered a “high-value individual.”

Meanwhile, a former police officer wanted for murder was also arrested on Wednesday in San Fernando, Pampanga after nearly 20 years in hiding.

The suspect had an outstanding arrest warrant issued by a Makati City court in November 2006. He was found in Montana View, Barangay Panipuan through a joint operation of authorities from Metro Manila and Pampanga.

The ex-cop was brought to the Makati City Police Station for booking and further procedures.
