Consulate and MWO-Dubai release advisory on service disruption due to holiday break

The Philippine Consulate General in Dubai and the Migrant Workers Office (MWO-Dubai) have released separate advisories informing the public of their closure on select dates in April 2025 in observance of official Philippine holidays.

Both offices will be closed to the public on April 9 (Wednesday) for the Day of Valor, April 17 (Thursday) for Maundy Thursday, and April 18 (Friday) for Good Friday. These closures are in accordance with the national holidays being observed in the Philippines and were announced following the directive of the Philippine Embassy in the UAE.

Despite the closure of public services, the Philippine Consulate General clarified that its Online Voting Kiosk will remain operational for those eligible to vote during these dates.

The MWO-Dubai also released a specific advisory detailing how workers with confirmed flights during the affected dates may still secure their needed documents. OFWs flying on April 9 or 10 are advised to visit MWO-Dubai from April 7 to 8, between 7:30 AM and 3:00 PM. Meanwhile, those flying from April 17 to 21 are encouraged to visit between April 14 and 16 during the same working hours. For workers unable to visit personally, an authorized representative may appear at MWO-Dubai five days before the flight back to the UAE or three days before their scheduled OEC appointment in the Philippines.

For emergency matters, the MWO-Dubai provided contact numbers and email addresses for services such as accreditation, job orders, individual contract verification, OEC, assistance to nationals, and concerns involving OWWA, SSS, and Pag-IBIG. The Philippine Consulate General also provided hotlines for emergency consular matters and non-OFW concerns. (See the posters below)
