Many Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) spend years apart from their families, sacrificing personal moments to provide a brighter future. This Christmas, Coca-Cola Philippines is shining a spotlight on these modern-day heroes with a heartwarming holiday campaign titled “The World Needs More Santas”.
At the center of the campaign is the Colina family, whose father, Aldo, has been working as a storekeeper in Malta for 17 years. While his hard work ensured his children’s education, it also meant missing out on milestones and five Christmases apart. This year, Coca-Cola gave Aldo and his three children the gift of a lifetime—a reunion after years of separation.
The surprise took place during Coca-Cola’s Christmas parade in Bonifacio Global City, where the Colina children were invited to join an onstage activity. As they shouted “Ho ho ho!” to claim their prizes, the curtains opened to reveal their father. The emotional moment was met with tears, tight hugs, and cheers from the audience.
“Unang-una kong gagawin [ay sabihin]: ‘tara mga anak, picture tayo,’” shared Aldo, eager to capture the precious moment of their reunion.
