Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro reiterated the administration’s firm stance against calls for President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to undergo a hair follicle drug test, calling the repeated clamor both unfounded and redundant.
During a media briefing, Castro firmly responded to another round of questioning on whether the President was open to the test. “Ulit-ulit! Paulit-ulit! Uulit-ulitin ko. Uulit-ulitin natin!” she exclaimed, clearly expressing frustration over the recurring queries.
When the same reporter again brought up the test, Castro responded with a touch of sarcasm: “Paulit-ulit po ulit? Hair follicle test po ulit?”
Previously, Castro clarified that no legitimate complaint or credible evidence has been submitted to warrant such a procedure. “Sino bang humihingi?” she asked, questioning the authenticity and motive behind the calls.
According to Castro, the Palace sees no legal or factual basis for subjecting the President to the test. She emphasized that unless formal charges or substantiated claims arise, there is no obligation on the part of Marcos to comply.
