Chloe San Jose encourages youth to prioritize mental health and inner peace

As someone whose work revolves around the digital space, Chloe has faced her fair share of scrutiny, but she remains undeterred, using her platform to inspire others to prioritize their well-being.

In the feature, Chloe candidly discussed what “protecting your peace” means for her, highlighting how she maintains her emotional boundaries and engages in self-care. “Protecting my peace means to me that I will cut off people who are not respecting the peace that I’m making for myself, doing things na nagbibigay peace sa akin like my content, spending time with people that I love,” she shared. For Chloe, even small acts of giving back and personal reflection contribute to her sense of peace.

When asked how she balances her fast-paced schedule with personal time and self-care, Chloe emphasized the importance of winding down before bed. “Mostly I’m able to do that before matulog… Really just spending time, like a lot of quality time for me and for the people that I love,” she explained.

Chloe also touched on the impact of social media on mental health discussions, noting how platforms have made it easier for people to be vocal about their struggles. “Social media has made [mental health] bigger and easier to talk about, because when you talk amongst family… some family members don’t see the mental aspect of what’s happening, so social media has really helped with that,” she said.

Despite her visibility online, Chloe shared her methods for ensuring her well-being isn’t affected by negative comments. She turns to music as a healing tool and avoids immersing herself in the negativity. “I really cleanse my aura… I would put [healing music] on every night, because I believe it cleanses me when I wake up,” she said. On particularly tough days, she prefers to avoid reading comments altogether, redirecting her energy toward music and other positive outlets.

Chloe’s message to young people struggling with mental health is one of self-awareness and care. “Really look within yourself, really know what you want in life, and really think how you’re gonna give yourself that peace in mind that everyone’s longing for,” she advised. She stressed the importance of taking care of oneself first before extending that care to others, encouraging youth to find inner strength as a foundation for their well-being.
