Chloe San Jose, a content creator, recently made claims against Carlos Yulo’s mother, Angelica Yulo, suggesting she wished ill upon the gymnast before the Paris Olympics. This revelation came after Carlos’s father, Mark Andrew Yulo, urged the athlete to apologize for calling his mother a “thief.”
The exchange began when Mark Andrew commented on Carlos’s Facebook post on Wednesday, September 4, expressing his desire for his son to mend his relationship with his mother. “Masaya ako sa narating mo, [anak]. Pero dapat mag-sorry ka sa nanay mo na sinabihan mong magnanakaw. Para luminis ‘yang imahen mo,” he wrote.
In response, San Jose addressed Mark Andrew, saying, “Pasensya na po kayo, tito. Alam ko po na hindi po ikaw ang nag-comment nito,” suggesting the comment may not have come from him directly. She then made the bold claim that Angelica Yulo had cursed Carlos before he qualified for the Olympics, saying he would “crawl on the ground” despite his efforts.
San Jose further alleged that Angelica had told Carlos he wouldn’t succeed even if he carried numerous rosaries with him. She also mentioned that Mark Andrew had supported Carlos’s success to silence negative remarks from their family members.
“Matagal na panahon at ilang beses na po kami nag-sorry ni Caloy at nag-try makipag-usap po sa inyong lahat, pero bakit po ganito?” San Jose added, highlighting ongoing attempts for reconciliation. She emphasized that both she and Carlos had moved on and continued to pray for the family’s healing.
Carlos Yulo, a two-time Olympic gold medalist, has previously spoken about his strained relationship with his mother, which he attributed partly to San Jose. He disclosed that their conflict also involved financial matters. Angelica Yulo had earlier voiced her disapproval of Carlos and San Jose’s relationship, which Carlos admitted was a significant factor in their falling out.
