Chito Miranda has come to the defense of his wife, Neri, following backlash on her P1,000 weekly meal plan.
Previously, Neri had received praise for her P2,000 meal guide which was designed to help families of 2 to 4 members enjoy affordable and relatively healthy meals.
Venturing to make an even more economical guide, Neri drafted a P1,000 weekly plan which was met with criticism for lacking details.
Addressing the negative feedback on social media, Chito recounted that Neri’s intention was to potentially aid those who might find the meal plan useful.
He emphasized the well-meaning motive behind the initiative, stating it was “mostly for fun, but she also thought that it can be useful for those who might want to use it as a guide.”
Chito recalled how the P2,000 plan, which featured meals with a substantial amount of vegetables, was detailed with “proper costing to back it up.”
The plan had been “a big hit with her followers.”
Unfortunately, the recent P1,000 plan lacked details, a mistake Neri acknowledged.
Addressing the backlash, Chito expressed sadness over the misunderstanding, saying: “Grabe diba? Naisip lang naman ng asawa ko na baka sakaling makatulong yung meal plan nya sa mga tao that might find it useful, na-bash pa sya ng mga taong hindi naman nakasubaybay kung bakit ginagawa nya yung meal plan.”
Miranda pointed out that the criticisms tell more about the character of the bashers, stating “for those who got angry and threw stones without knowing the details of what she was doing, good job sa inyo…your comments say more about your character than anything else.”
Despite the setback, Neri plans to refine the P1,000 meal guide to make it more comprehensive for its users.
She is focused on enhancing the details “para mas maging helpful yung guide nya,” Chito shared.
He ended his post with a note of appreciation for those who understood what Neri was trying to achieve, promising that she will amend the details to better aid her followers.
