Dubai Mall, renowned for its unique shopping and cultural attractions, has added another feather to its cap with the inauguration of Chinatown on Saturday. This new addition is a vibrant gateway to the rich Chinese culture, traditions, and culinary delights.
Chinatown was inaugurated by a host of dignitaries, including Abdullah Bin Touq Al Marri, the UAE Minister of Economy; Ma Xin, Vice Governor of Jiangsu Province; Li Xuhang, Consul General of China in Dubai; Mohamed Alabbar, founder and managing director of Emaar; and Jamal Bin Thaniah, chairman of Emaar.
Visitors stepping into Chinatown will find themselves transported into the heart of China, experiencing a vivid tapestry of traditions and flavors.
A souvenir market welcomes the visitors with a variety of Chinese handicrafts, textiles, and artifacts, allowing them to take a piece of China’s heritage back home.
However, it’s the food court that is the crowning glory of Chinatown.
Offering a wide array of authentic Chinese dishes, from savory dumplings to sumptuous roast duck, the place is a haven for food lovers. Those with a penchant for sweets can indulge in a selection of Chinese pastries and desserts.
The inauguration of Chinatown also marks the beginning of China Week, an immersive cultural celebration held in collaboration with the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Dubai.
The week-long event features a range of activities, exhibitions, and performances that showcase traditional Chinese art, dance, and interactive cultural workshops, providing an enriching experience for all visitors.
