A six-year-old child from the besieged Gaza Strip, who was brought to the United Arab Emirates for medical treatment, has passed away. The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) of the UAE confirmed that the young patient was suffering from an advanced stage of acute lymphoblastic leukemia, along with several other health complications.
Upon arrival in the UAE, the child was immediately transferred to a specialized medical center. Despite the efforts of healthcare professionals, the child’s condition continued to deteriorate, ultimately resulting in his untimely death.
The Ministry extended its deepest condolences to the child’s family, who are grappling with this profound loss. This unfortunate incident underscores the severe impact of the ongoing conflict on the health and well-being of children in the region.
The deceased was among a thousand children brought to the UAE for medical treatment, following a directive from UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. This initiative was part of a larger effort by the UAE to provide care for 1,000 cancer patients, in response to the collapse of Gaza’s healthcare system due to continuous bombing.
