Raquel Marbella’s life is a shining example of dedication and perseverance. At 42, this proud Filipina has shown that with hard work and determination, success can be achieved in one’s homeland.
Navigating through life’s challenges, Raquel’s early years were not without hardships. Her mother toiled as a vegetable vendor in Divisoria Market after her father left them during their younger years. As the eldest among five siblings, Raquel stepped up, assisting her mother in providing for their family’s needs.
Today, her siblings have also found their own successes – one serves in the police force, another is a nautical graduate, and all continue to flourish.
Passion in real estate
Starting off as a marketing coordinator, Raquel’s role primarily revolved around clerical tasks and assisting sellers. However, her zeal and commitment did not go unnoticed.
“Year 2008 I accepted the offer to become part of the Sales Team,” she shares with The Global Filipino Magazine.
With the guidance of her division head, Ms. Elizabeth Kalaw, and the unwavering support of her family, Raquel made remarkable strides in her career, now standing as a Business Unit Head at Vista Investment Professionals under Vistaland.
For Raquel, real estate isn’t just a profession; it’s a platform to make a difference.
“Being a Business Unit Head at Vistaland allows me to guide our kababayan in making informed decisions about investing their hard-earned money in Real Estate,” she mentions.
Moreover, she is passionate about nurturing and fostering opportunities for individuals keen to explore the world of real estate.
Her current role also offers her unique experiences.
“It gifts me the opportunity to explore diverse places, especially on the international front, and connect with a variety of individuals.”
Since 2003, her journey with the company has been filled with enriching experiences, from international roadshows to understanding different cultures across the globe.
Future aspirations
With a forward-thinking mindset, Raquel is already envisioning her next steps. Her post-retirement plan includes establishing her own call center company, which will also have a strong focus on real estate, serving different market segments.
In reflection of her journey, Raquel strongly believes, “If you’re hardworking, you won’t go hungry in the Philippines.”
