A professional development clinic for basketball coaches is set to take place in Doha this February, bringing one of Philippine basketball’s most accomplished figures to the Middle East for an intensive, single-day learning session. The Champions Class for Coaches will be held on February 5, 2026, and is designed exclusively for coaches seeking advanced instruction grounded in elite competition and program leadership.
The clinic will be led by LA Tenorio, whose career spans championship success both on the court and along the sidelines. Currently serving as head coach of Batang Gilas and the Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots in the PBA, Tenorio is also part of the Gilas Pilipinas senior national team coaching staff, placing him at the center of player development across multiple levels of the sport.
Organizers said the Doha session will focus on translating championship experience into practical coaching frameworks. Topics will include structured systems, building winning culture, and long-term athlete development, reflecting Tenorio’s progression from elite point guard to program leader responsible for shaping teams and mentoring young talent.
Tenorio’s transition into coaching followed a decorated playing career that established him as one of the PBA’s most reliable floor generals. A multiple-time league champion and former Finals MVP, he was also a mainstay of Gilas Pilipinas during his playing years, including a standout performance at the 2012 William Jones Cup. His move into coaching has since taken him through collegiate and national team roles before assuming head coaching duties in the PBA and with the country’s youth national teams.
The Champions Class clinic in Doha is open on a limited-slot basis, with registration details released for interested coaches across the region through the event’s official contact channels.
