A well-known female celebrity is allegedly among the key figures involved in the disappearance of over 100 sabungeros, or cockfight enthusiasts, according to a suspect in the high-profile kidnapping case.
In an exclusive report by Emil Sumangil for 24 Oras, the accused—identified only as “Totoy”—claimed that the actress is part of the so-called “alpha group” allegedly orchestrating the abductions.
“May isang babaeng celebrity… kasama siya sa alpha member,” Totoy revealed, saying the personality frequently joined meetings and was “a key figure” in the group’s operations. He added that she knows “a lot more” than others and should also be held accountable alongside dozens of police officers and civilians allegedly involved.
Totoy said he has prepared an affidavit that names the celebrity and other individuals but is waiting to complete his set of evidence before submitting it. He is also appealing for witnesses to corroborate his statements.
The National Police Commission (Napolcom) has begun a preliminary investigation into Totoy’s claims. Napolcom Vice Chairperson Atty. Rafael Calinisan urged any complainants to step forward and file formal reports.
“Kung nakikinig ang complainant natin ngayon dito, maaari siya makipag-ugnayan sa Napolcom… Aksyunan natin ito,” Calinisan said, emphasizing the agency’s commitment to act decisively.
Calinisan did not mince words about the possible involvement of law enforcers in the case. “’Di ako kumportable na may mga kasama tayo sa police force sa PNP na involved dito… ‘Di tayo magdadalawang isip kung kailangan natin disiplinahin at tanggalin sa serbisyo,” he said.
