A male teacher in Cebu City is facing complaints for allegedly biting two male students, aged 17 and 14, at Don Vicente Rama Memorial National High School. One of the students, according to a GMA Integrated News report, was reportedly instructed to remove his shirt to show his abs before being bitten on the back, leaving a mark.
The father of one of the students, a police officer, is determined to file a complaint against the MAPEH teacher. According to the father, the teacher threatened the student with consequences if he didn’t comply with the request to remove his shirt. Even after complying, the teacher allegedly bit the student.
The parents of the students have filed complaints with the local barangay chairman, Dave Tumulak, who confirmed that there is sufficient evidence to support the complaints, including a medical certificate, photos, videos, and testimonies.
The school administration has reported the incident to the Cebu City Department of Education, and the students involved are set to receive counseling and debriefing. Dr. Salustiano Jimenez, the DepEd Central Visayas director, stated that they would not tolerate such behavior and have forwarded the case to the legal office for action.
