Businessman donates seven Dubai buildings worth AED 110 million to support charitable causes

Dubai businessman Hamad Bin Ahmed Bin Salem Al Hajri has made one of the UAE’s largest endowment contributions this year, donating seven buildings across Dubai valued at around Dh110 million to the Endowments and Minors’ Trust Foundation (Awqaf Dubai).

According to the official deed filed with the foundation, Al Hajri said the endowment was made in his own name and in memory of his late parents. The proceeds from the properties will fund ongoing humanitarian and community development projects managed by Awqaf Dubai and the Minors’ Trust.

Al Hajri described the donation as a continuation of the values of generosity and compassion championed by the UAE’s founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. He said the act embodies the nation’s deep-rooted principles of giving, solidarity, and social responsibility.

Ali Al Mutawa, Secretary-General of Awqaf Dubai, commended Al Hajri’s gesture, noting that the endowment would help sustain vital initiatives in healthcare, education, and community services. He added that the contribution strengthens Dubai’s standing as a global center for sustainable philanthropy and reflects the leadership’s vision of using endowments as instruments for lasting social impact.

Awqaf Dubai currently oversees assets worth Dh11.1 billion, representing 1,043 endowments contributed by 578 donors. The foundation continues to witness steady growth in charitable participation from citizens and residents alike, reinforcing the UAE’s culture of humanitarian generosity.
