San Rafael, Bulacan, has officially entered the Guinness World Records for the “largest gathering of people dressed as angels,” surpassing a record set in Winnipeg, Canada, in 2015.
Mayor Mark Cholo Violago shared the milestone on the town’s official Facebook page, expressing gratitude to the more than 2,000 participants who gathered at the Victory Coliseum for the record-breaking event.
“My joy is overwhelming, and I thank the over 2,000 San Rafael angels and everyone who took part in our first Guinness World Records attempt,” Violago said in Filipino.
Guinness World Records adjudicator Kazuyoshi Kirimura confirmed the achievement and presented the official certificate to Violago during the event.
The previous record was held by the Misericordia Health Center Foundation of Canada, with their 2015 event.
Senator Imee Marcos was also present to witness the historic occasion in San Rafael.
